Oh yes, those of you that know California know that the Altamont Pass is the escape from the central valley. It’s the sign of freedom to San Francisco. Over the past two months I had to go to the central valley twice (which explains why the delay in my mixes) along with problems from my primary computer. The central valley is like Atlantic City to Vegas. Horrible!! It makes California, so not California. I went there for a great reason and good intentions. Now that that’s over, here’s a little mix (a lot more vocal tunes here for ya) of some of the songs I was listening to during my time driving from the Oakland airport through the Altamont Pass (I-580) to the central valley and back again. It’s great listening music, a little laid back for trance sakes and couple of house music moments happen here. I did throw on a couple of older tunes too. “War of Hearts” is simply beautiful and totally captures why I was in the central valley. “Carpe Noctum” is the only non-vocal track on here and is pumping and slamming. The build-up on this track is enormous! The 2007 mix of “Missing” is surprising and what’s up with this Imogen Heap remix? I’m not a big fan of Cosmic Gate, but I actually liked this one track. Finally “Smile” wraps it up. It’s only fitting I finished with that one. Hell, I escaped the central valley and all I can do is smile from here on out. Hope ya enjoy!!
