I love small islands!! The idea of being completely isolated from the rest of the world seems to imbue island inhabitants with a strong sense of freedom and self-identity. This, in turn, cultivates creativity of thought and design. We see this paradigm appear in places such as Ibiza, Key West, Hawai’i, Mykonos, and many others. What better place is there to go and set up the largest sound system possible without worry of attracting unwanted attention? This mix is a tribute to the myriad of small islands off the Southern California coast – The Channel Islands. While not known for over-the-top parties, these islands give refuge to a variety of animals, plants, and the lucky few who have boats. Speaking of boats…they are rad!...and this mix would be perfect for a nice little island-hopping cruise.
