Francis Mallinson DJs with Ben Clarke and the pair produce as Crunch.
Practically glued together on the decks, Ben and Francis began their DJing career at Twisted Melon back in 2004 and have not looked back since. Now, as two parts of Loop Music, they play regularly in clubs across London and push cool, high paced tech house grooves to an appreciative following.
As DJs they are known for being brave enough to show that they enjoy playing music as much as those dancing to it, and have earned the loyalty of an enthusiastic crowd, taking them to clubs across the capital and as far afield as Eastern Europe. If you are in need of a pair with passionate enthusiasm for serious party music, then look no further!
Pointing to artists Layo and Bushwacka, and sounds heard at Cocoon or the End as inspirations, Ben and Francis play a mix of tough, driving house, more minimal and trippy European tech sounds and deep, funky techno. This has seen them appear on several dates at the Ministry of Sound, London's famous Cross night club, venues in Europe and, most notably, at John Digweed's Bedrock Easter party.
Keen to express their enthusiasm beyond the confines of the night club, the pair penned a debut production under the Crunch Pseudonym in 2006. Francis has been developing his production skills as they plan to carve out a signature sound to complement their DJing.
2006 also saw Ben begin the Loop Music enterprise with mutual friend Steve Marx and a popular weekly podcast radio show was born. Francis joins the collective for club gigs. The show has featured all three, with live recordings from clubs, sets from fellow London-based DJs and mixes taking in everything from progressive house and minimal funk to downtempo afterhours sounds.
Ben and Francis plan to continue expanding the promoters they work with and hope to add to the list of acts they have supported, which currently includes Justin Robertson, Hybrid, Anthony Pappa, Nick Warren and a number of the biggest names in underground electronic music.

This mix represents the sound of the new night I'm
promoting with Ben Clarke - Chez Nous. It's tech
house, but has funk, soul and groove.
Starting with a signal of intent in the form of
rap and 4/4 beats from the Rulers of the
Deep; the selection then opens up with warm tracks from Motorcitysoul and Adam Kroll to get you moving.
New pieces from Funk D'Void and Dennis Ferrer add atmosphere and tension before everything steps up a stage and its time to party! Two tunes from Chris Dis are solid funky tech house numbers and a feel good anthem from Milton Jackson provides a cornerstone to the mix.
Three offerings from Jon Silva lead us into a main room, peak time closing slot, with golden oldies from DJ T and Offshore Funk keeping up the pace in a more soulful style. Man of the moment Gui Boratto finshes it all off with a truly amazing piece of music - Beautiful Life.
