From the sun-drenched beaches of Miami, Charlie Rich's musical career started from admirably humble beginnings, playing upbeat trance at small house parties throughout the city.
After moving to Italy in 2003, Charlie Rich was heavily influenced by the new sounds coming from the underground clubs of Europe. Unhappy with the stagnation of trance, he underwent a drastic musical metamorphosis, re-shaping his style to the cutting edge of the scene. His current sound is an exotic blend of acid, tech, and minimal house which combines dark bass and sexy beats along with mesmerizing synths and furious breakdowns.
Charlie has a knack for finding the biggest tunes before they break. His passion for the scene, love of the music, and flawless DJing skills have earned him a small but dedicated following which continues to expand year after year. Now, Charlie brings his Miami/Euro vibe and energy to Honolulu and continues his rise. In addition to DJing, Charlie is producing and working on opening his own record label in the near future. He records a fresh demo disc every month packed with storming new tunes.
His latest mix (October '06) truly captures the sound of today's dancefloors by blending the smooth sounds of Progressive and Electro House. It contains tracks by many of today's most influential artists such as Mylo, Roger Sanchez, and Chris Lake.
